![]() “Extra-Foolish Burial” is quite particular to the point only offers a reduced number of results that can obtain compared to more popular milling effects, but still has some noticeable benefits. Don’t worry much about the Spell and Trap restriction, as in a time where Effect Monsters occupy most of a Deck it should be no much of a problem. ![]() Unfortunately there’s very scarce Extra Deck monsters with Graveyard effects of their own, with specific candidates like “Elder Entity N’tss” allowing us to destroy a card, or monsters such as “Number 71: Rebarian Shark” and “Herald of the Arc Light” to trigger their searching abilities. ![]() But if we really wanna summon monsters from the Graveyard, Pendulum Monsters that originated from the Main Deck will become our best option as well becoming a viable option to bypass the limitations of the Extra Monster Zone. One very particular example comes in the shape of “Ghost Charon, the Underworld Boatman” requiring a Fusion Monster in the Graveyard to Synchro Summon with, or cards such as “Miracle Fusion” and similar alternatives using Fusion materials from the Graveyard that can benefit from taking shortcuts for summons that require particular Extra Deck monsters. Since the majority of Extra Deck monsters must be brought by their proper method to be summoned from the Graveyard “Extra” is not the recommended choice to play along revival effects (Although might be using the copying effect of “Phantom of Chaos” if we only need a target’s effect), yet might become a valuable choice to obtain resources for certain effects and summons. Since interacts with our Extra Deck, “Extra” is quite particular as can aim for similar setups compared to other milling effects but also its very own. This leads to a demerit where we cannot play any other Spells or Traps before or after its activation, yet “Extra-Foolish Burial” still offers some strong interesting interactions despite the reduced number of cards from the Extra Deck compared to milling the Main Deck. This “Extra” version tries to aim for similar goal at cost of half our Life Points, instead milling an Extra Deck monster to the Graveyard. “Extra-Foolish Burial” is one of various cards that obviously try to take a similar approach with the original “Foolish Burial”, a Spell Card that gradually gained popularity to the point of being Limited by the banlist. Not only that, but with the addition of Graveyard effects as well cards that require cards in there to be played, milling a player’s Deck can become extremely counterproductive unless we try to either banish cards or aim for a convoluted OTK combo. In the first years of the game players would discard strong monsters to shortcut their summons by revival effects, so is no surprise that milling a wide number of cards aims for the same purpose without having to waste hand for the same goal. While milling Decks has the risk of running out of cards to draw and lose by Deck Out, that didn’t stop it to becoming one of the best engines to setup all sorts of plays from early to late game. You cannot Set Spells/Traps during the turn you activate this card.Ĭan Be Found In: Soul Fusion (SOFU-EN065) You can only activate 1 “Extra-Foolish Burial” per turn. Pay half your LP send 1 monster from your Extra Deck to the GY. ![]()
